Google Maps List Exporter

Turn your Google Maps saved places into clean spreadsheets. Drop your Google Takeout? files — or paste text copied from Maps — and export CSV, Excel, JSON or GeoJSON?. 100% in your browser.

When would I use this?

You've spent years starring restaurants, saving "Want to go" spots and labelling places in Google Maps — and now you want that list in a spreadsheet: to plan a trip, import into another app, or just to own a copy. Google gives you the raw files via Takeout, but they're a scruffy mix of JSON and half-empty CSVs. Drop them here and get one tidy, deduplicated table with names, coordinates, addresses and links — ready to export.

Unlike exportgooglemaps.com and similar services, there's no upload, no email address, no account and no server. Everything happens in this tab; your files never leave your machine.

Honest limits: this tool doesn't scrape live Google Maps and doesn't call any Places API to enrich your data. It exports exactly what's in your files, decoded as far as the data allows — sparse rows in, sparse rows out (though we squeeze coordinates and place IDs out of the Google Maps links where we can).

How to get your Takeout file

  1. Go to takeout.google.com and sign in.
  2. Click Deselect all — you don't want your whole Google life in this export.
  3. Scroll down and tick Maps (your places) and Saved. ("Saved" holds your named lists like Want to go and Favourites; "Maps (your places)" holds saved places, labels and reviews.)
  4. Click Next step, choose Export once, and create the export.
  5. Download the .zip when Google emails you the link (usually within minutes for these two categories).
  6. Drop the files from inside it — or the whole zip — into the box below.

Files this tool understands: Saved Places.json, Labeled places.json, Reviews.json, and list CSVs like Want to go.csv, Favorite places.csv, Starred places.csv or any custom-named list. Anything else in the zip is skipped silently.

01 Add your Maps data

Drop your Takeout files here, or click to browse
Saved Places.json · list CSVs · Labeled places.json · Reviews.json · or the whole Takeout .zip

Best-effort parsing — copied search results are messy, so check the table before exporting. Re-click after editing; the pasted rows are replaced, not duplicated.

Private by design: everything happens in this tab, on your computer. Nothing is uploaded, no account is needed, and this page makes no network requests at all.

02 Options

Duplicates

The same place saved in several lists becomes one row (matched by place ID? when present, otherwise by name + coordinates). Its lists are combined in the Label / List column.

Columns

Combined puts "lat, lng" in one column (handy for pasting straight into Maps); off keeps separate decimal-degree Latitude and Longitude columns.

03 Places & export

No places yet
Add Takeout files or pasted Maps text above — your places will appear here, ready to sort and export.
